Field based access

Employee Spotlight allows you to set which profile fields can be seen or edited by employees.

Employee profile fields may include sensitive information such as salary, hire date, government identification number. In addition,  some of the profile fields can be updated from external systems such Microsoft Active Directory/LDAP or some batch CSV file. In most cases, you do not want your staff update these fields. 

Role based access allows you to set which records or functionality a staff member can access. Field based access, on the other hand, lets you choose which fields a staff member can see and edit. This not only increases the data integrity of your system but also decreases the issues related to exposing staff members to too much information.
